There was a time when women were just busy with household chores and baby-sitting but now, they have to check their mails and do social networking; remain out of the house to fulfill their ambitions; manage home, work and self. What will you call such a woman? Busy bee-one who doesn’t have time even to look at her in the mirror. We simply cannot expect her to follow a beauty regime when she is always on the go. Is your closet brimming with skin care products? You have everything- anti-aging creams, night creams, day creams, wrinkle creams, toners, cleaners, fairness lotions and so on. The good news is that you don’t know which one is essential and has to be used daily. Rule number one- get rid of extras that you have not used for more than two months and those that are living beyond expiry date. You will not use either of them and your shelf will take a breather. Now, decide which of the remaining products go with your skin type. Don’t know your skin type yet? Determine yourself if your skin is dry, oily, combination/normal, or sensitive or go to a dermatologist for help. Once determined, keep only those skin care products that suit your skin.

Further, remember that you only have to follow a basic AM and PM skin care regime. Busy women can take out time in the morning and at night to follow simple and quick how-to for skin care. First thing in the morning, cleanse your face with a cleanser that suits your skin. You can also exfoliate gently, twice a week. Now, this part is important- apply a moisturizer according to skin type. Lastly, never leave home without layering your skin with an appropriate sun block lotion (minimum SPF 30, maximum SPF 50), half an hour before stepping out. This AM skin care regime will not take more than ten minutes. As for the PM regime, cleanse your face again, apply a correction or soothing night cream and voila, you are done for the day.

Just follow these simple and quick tips for skin care- they will suffice for your skin care regime. Remember, beauty comes from within; you have to eat right and drink more water to get that flawless skin.

While younger people take their skin for granted, others spend thousands of dollars yearly on products that promise them dewy, healthy and youthful skin. These said products claim to keep the signs of aging at bay, including wrinkles, age spots and dry skin. These are also the same products that promise to prevent acne and other skin imperfections. While these expensive products can be beneficial for your skin, there are other facial skin care methods, including the use of facial steamer, which can also help maintain a youthful skin.


Here are the top five facial skin care tips you need to use:


1. Stay out of the sun or use a sunscreen. Skin experts have long warned people out of staying under the sun without protection.  While sporting a balanced and beautiful golden skin in the summer can reel in some admiration and appreciation, it will also give you skin damage in the process. Constant sun exposure is believed to be the culprit for age spots as you grow older. Sun exposure is also believed to exacerbate acne in people who are prone to getting them. Exercise.  Regular physical activity helps increase the blood flow, thereby keeping the skin cells healthy, promoting the excretion of waste products as well as harmful free radicals, which are known to cause damage to the skin. Furthermore, exercising can also help you decrease stress, which is known to exarcebate certain skin conditions such as eczema and acne.


4. Moisturize. If there is one secret on earth that most people need to know in order to take care of their skin, it is to moisturize as early as possible. Moisturizers do not only keep the skin hydrated and soft, it also helps protect sensitive skin as well as improve your skin tone. There are different types of moisturizers that you can choose from, depending on the type of skin you have. They usually offer moisturizers for people with normal skin, dry skin, oily skin, combination skin and mature skin.


5. Use a facial steamer. Steamers are known to emit steam directly into the face which helps to promote skin blood circulation, softens and opens pores for easy removal of dead skin debris and dirt as well as allows for deep cleansing, re-hydrating and rejuvenation. Some people with acne find that steaming their face at least once or twice on a weekly basis has helped improve their skin condition. There are also different types of steamers you can choose from.
