What is a facial scrub and why should you use it?

Facial scrubs are also known as exfoliators. They tend to be a thicker and more concentrated formula used to cleanse the skin. They contain micro particles to mechanically scrub the skin and help loosen and remove the top layer of dead skin cells. When used properly, they should leave our skin noticeably smoother with just one application. Like all exfoliation, it is a nice treatment for both acne and wrinkles because it encourages the surfacing of newer and younger skin cells. Using a facial scrub before using wrinkle cream or facial, acne treatment can also make the treatments more effective as it allows the treatments to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin instead of being wasted on the dead skin cells sitting no top that often block absorption.

Unlike fruit acid peels that work chemically to loosen dead skin cells, facial scrubs uses gentle abrasion to correct skin issues and gives the skin a polished appearance. The results we’ll get get depend greatly on how the ingredients of the scrub, how often we use it and how much pressure we apply when we use it.

Can you use a facial scrub if you have acne prone skin?

This is a hard question to answer. There are so much information out there that say “yes”, and yet there are others that say “no”. I personally believe that you should be able to use facial scrubs even if you have acne prone skin. Using facial scrubs has allowed me and many other people achieve healthy new skin. The trick is to make sure that we don’t overuse them and that we are gentle with our application. We want to encourage the stimulation of new skin cells and the loosening of the old without actually clawing our skin off. Remember with acne prone skin, being rough will only cause more damage and sensitivity.

One more point on facial scrubs and acne prone skin. Facial scrubs will help remove the dead skin, dirt and other debris that often clog pores and clogged pores are a cause for acne and pimples.

What should I look for in a facial scrub?

Here are 3 key things that can make all the difference on our skin care regime:

The particles contained in the scrub should not be too large. If the granules are too large, we risk irritating and scratching our skin. The idea size we are looking for is something that is just large enough to loosen the surface layer of the skin without leaving red marks behind but small enough to ensure thorough coverage. I strong recommend a scrub that contains micro granules as well as fine particles like clay.

Our scrub formula should be soap free. Soap can be very irritating to the skin as it strips our skin of its natural oils leaving it dry and sensitive.

We should select products that contain a high concentration of plant extracts, oils and essential oils.  These extracts will promote hydration, skin repair, regeneration and healing. Just like the rest of us, our skin cells need a variety of vitamins and antioxidants to grow healthy and strong, and the highest quality comes from nature itself.

How often should I use a facial scrub?

There isn’t one rule as to how often to exfoliate. However, I highly recommend that we don’t do it more than twice a week. We need to make sure we give our skin time to regenerate and repair. If we scrub it on a daily basis, we may be aggravating our skin condition rather than treating it. Let’s leave our face cleanser do the daily work for us and only use our facial scrub to do the heavy lifting once a week. This will ensure we are not to rough on our skin.

How fast does it work?

As I have mentioned before, using natural skin care ingredients are extremely effective but they do work from the deeper layers of the skin, therefore we must be patient and manage our expectations accordingly. It will take time for the effects to surface to the top layers of our skin. The quality of our facial scrub plays a massive role too in the results we can expect to see. If it is filled with synthetic ingredients that act as fillers then that means there are less room for the good stuff and we aren’t getting as much out of our facial scrub as we should.

We can expect to see minor improvements along the way, but it may take a few months of frequent use to see awesome results and with dedication; such as skin regimen can really improve skin problems such as acne, scarring, and wrinkles. We can definitely get amazing skin by incorporating a good facial scrub into our routine.

We all know skin covers our entire body. It is a layer of protection so that the muscles and veins inside the body will not be exposed to all harmful external factors. The skin helps us regulate heat and prevent our body from failing due to overexposure to heat or humidity. Aside from that, the skin also makes you look presentable. It makes looking at another person easier. Skin apart from protecting us, also makes us look good. It is also our job to take care of our skin so it can continue to protect us. While we are doing that we might as well take steps on making us look better. For example, you might be using lotions to moisturize your skin so that it will not dry and break.

The skin on the face is special because it is sensitive. Also, when you look at someone, the first thing that registers to you in the skin on their face. If you want to make a good impression on someone, make sure that you show yourself with youthful skin that is glowing with health. One of the key issues on taking care of our facial skin is about taking care of acne and pimples. But how can you really take care of a skin that is covered with acne and pimples?

One key component to keeping your skin healthy and devoid of acne would be to make sure you have an acne treatment that isn’t just effective but safe as well. There are various acne treatment forms out there that are said to be effective, but you have to be prepared for some side effects that accompany them. These side effects include dry and over-exfoliated skin, and in some cases even irrigation. Rashes can also be seen after using certain acne treatment. And if you are not careful, these treatment can link you to cancer, skin diseases, and even death.

Rather than going through all the trouble and ending up giving your skin a new problem, you should stay away from dangerous products and instead choose the ones that sooth your skin and prevents any kind of irritation while removing acne. Always try a new treatment on other parts of your body first where it’s less visible and check for any adverse effects. In the pursuit for acne treatment, people sometimes get desperate and forget to take precautions.  The product you should choose must also be safe.  Effective treatments not only prevent acne breakouts in the future, they can remove the acne scars that are left on your face. If you could find a single acne treatment that does all these, you have to make sure it is safe.

Don’t settle for products that only remove the redness and swelling. These are just signs of acne, but the problem is still there. Be wise and read more about acne before agreeing with that these products tell you.
