pomegranate-beaufiful-skin The punica granatum more commonly known as the pomegranate originated in Persia  has is full of nutrients and phytochemicals.  Pomeranate juice is a good source of vitamin C, B5, potassium and antioxidant polyphenols.

Pomegranate juices are high in antioxidant polyphenols known as hydrolyzable tannins called punicalagins.   Punicalagins are absorbed into the human body and have dietary value antioxidants.

Recent studies have shown that pomegranate has the ability to improve wound healing, repaire skin cuts and scrapes.  What is even more astonishing is that it also appears to have a positive effect in the repair of skin damange due to aging and sun exposure.

Pomegranate help slow the appearance of wrinkles and jowls.  Pomegranate extracts have a positive effect on the skin by extending the life of cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin (fobroblasts).  Collagen and Elastin are the components that give strength and support for our skin.  When they break down, wrinkles appear.

Laboratory research have shown that pomegranate juice is effective in reducing heart disease risk factores, reduce systolic blood pressures and may inhibit viral infections, effects of dental paque.

Pomegranate seed oil has also shwon to be effective againt proliferation of breast cancer cells in vitro.
