La Estancia: Asador Criollo

One key thing to note first.  One cannot go wrong with ordering steak in Argentina.   Argentina is world renowned for its asado (steak) and there is no better place to drop by in Buenos Aires (the capital of Argentina) then La Estancia to sooth your cravings.   Argentinean beef are grown without chemicals on natural grass which makes them taste so much better.  We stopped by after the Argentinean rancher on the flight to Buenos Aires overheard us talking about having stake and recommended “La Estancia” with two thumbs up.

The waiters there are extremely helpful and the portions were huge.  You can choose to have the steak served already cooked or a little rare and have it coal fire  grilled at your table.  The steaks are big and juicy compared to those I have had elsewhere.  The also have a great selection of wines to go with the steak.  Don’t forget to order your local red wine from Mendoza.

For the curious, you can watch the chefs (asador criollo) prepare your meat in the window and enjoy the art of asado grilling.  They also have a great Tango and Folklore Show every night except Sunday.

The overall experience was great and the price was cheap given the exchange rate.  I spent about $20 dollars.   Make sure you check them out next time you are in Buenos Aires, Argentina!  And don’t forget to take pictures!
