Acne is a common skin problem that is on the rise. It normally develops on the face, back, chest, shoulders and the neck. When the pores of our skin get blocked due to dirt pimples are formed. It is more common for oily skin to develop acne even though it can happen in other skin types.

So here are a few DIY remedies that you can use to help reduce and remove your acne scars by making your very own treatments:

    1. Oatmeal and cinnamon: heat one cup of water to around medium heat and add half a cup of oatmeal and a teaspoon of lemon juice. This will help in cleansing your skin. After this mixture cools down a bit, add a table spoon of cinnamon. The mixture is now ready to be used. After applying it on the areas of your skin that have acne, leave it for half an hour. Wash your face with warm water, after which you can apply moisturizer. This will help remove any flaws from your skin.

 

  1. Potato: this vegetable helps in removing any form of dirt and grease from your face, reducing the chances of acne as well as dark circles. Cut thin slices of potato and apply them over your pimples. Besides applying slices of potato, you can also use potato juice to help free your skin from acne and puffiness.

Tip: the same pack can be formed using orange juice or its peals instead of potatoes.

    1. ‘Flour’ it up: mix one teaspoon of rice flour, one teaspoon of gram’s flour and ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder. To make this pack smooth, add a teaspoon of milk which should be raw. Apply this pack to your skin for twenty minutes after which you can wash it off with warm water.

 

  1. Sweet way out: brown sugar helps removes impurities from your skin. Make this pack by mixing three teaspoons of brown sugar with one teaspoon of honey. Use this mixture on your face in a circular manner. Leave it for fifteen minutes, after which you can use cold water to wash it dry.

These remedies can be used at least twice a week. However, besides these tips, keep in mind basic factors to protect your skin from acne, such as: try not to keep touching your skin because your hands can be dirty, wash your face exactly twice a day, moisturize your skin and always use sunscreen when you step out; last but not the least, reduce the stress in your life to enjoy that beautiful glowing skin you see in others and not yourself because now you know the secret!
